After every N.E.R.D release, I cannot wait to see how the Neptunes will create the next sound to bring back the 'pop' styling and the ever evolving N.E.R.D sound. Hot in Here, Boyz, and most of N.E.R.D's gems (gems is a term I use for their entire discography) have a killer bridge where we hear that tingling falsetto from the man, Mr. Find me a track he has produced that is without a bridge (or at least a really good excuse for not having one). After all it is his chance to break into soul-ful sexy Usher we know and love) There is a cracking bridge in this track (although I can't imagine Usher ever ditching a bridge). (*tear*).īut thankfully Usher has released O.M.G. There is more experimental instruments and compositions but often the bridge is being totally forgotten.

(112- 'It's Over Now' is a typical example!) With the way the music industry is today, it is a true challenge to become known so artists are continually altering this vocal format. It begins with a verse, then goes hook, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus. Pop music is technically 'correct' music along with alot of the pop r&b from this era. But it is nothing in comparison to the amazing bridges that we find in the likes of 112, Usher and the early 2000 artists.

Hiphop tracks, especially in the 90s and such had a female vocalist (think, Faith Evans) and in more modern 2000 times, Dwele and Matthew Santos for Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco, respectively. Most electronic music has the same repetitive phrase over and over. Typical pop music has something that most other genres are somewhat without.
